Small Talk x Sabri Sundos
2024
The Infinite Poppy embroidered crewneck is cut in a very soft and drapey Japanese cotton interlock knit and embroidered intricately with a design drawn by our friend Sam Sundos. Sam is a Palestinian-American artist living and working in Brooklyn, and this design was part of a series of sketches he sent over last year when we were designing this shirt. He summarized the process of drawing this embroidery design:
“One way of coping for me personally is believing that you live forever. This life is just a restart from a previous one. I find escape in repetitiveness and I couldn’t tell you where I started or ended drawing this flower but throughout my movements the whole time the idea of eternal existence replayed in the mind. I do believe it’s all a continuation and that you pick up whatever was left for you in the last one and what you leave in this one follows you in the next. All this to say all I want to do in this life is in service to leaving this one better than I did the last one not just for me but for all.“
